Succeed by Failing Fast

Two weeks ago we looked going back to basics and the importance of having systems in place in your business.

To recap, with systems you have a reliable way of testing ads to find winners which will continue to produce new prospects and clients for a long time to come.

Whenever you advertise, or promote yourself in any way, you need to test, test and test. Start small. Track response. Analyse your results. You discover what works, and do more of it. If it doesn’t work, drop it.

This week we’ll look into the importance of failing faster!

Many people are worried about trying new things, because they might just fail at it. But what happens if it fails? Ok, it might cost a bit of money. But apart from that, what’s the worst that can happen?

If you feel paralysed in your business, let me tell you that failing can be extremely profitable, as long as it forms part of your system!

In business it’s extremely important that you take action. Taking an action that leads to a learning experience is much better than taking no action at all.

As they say, the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again, whilst expecting a different result.

Now, there’s an important aspect to the method of failing fast. You have to fail with as little money and time wasted as possible.

What makes this such a big issue? You see, when most people fail they stop! They don’t go forward anymore. They stop taking action because failure hurts so badly.

That’s one of the major reasons why success is so rare! Hardly anyone thinks about success this way… if you knew that one failure brings you just one step closer to succeeding, wouldn’t you want to fail as fast as possible too? Most people will want to fail faster!

See what I mean? It all depends on your point of view. Don’t ever let a little failure stop you. Learn from it and keep going, success is just around the corner!

Now, let me ask you, do you believe your current business situation isn’t your fault?

You might be right, it might not be. However, if you believe it’s not your fault then you’re looking for someone to blame for your current circumstances and failures.

Think about this for a moment.

Even if your initial situation was due to someone else, your current situation is down to you. It’s as simple as that. Your current situation is a direct result of the decisions, or lack of decisions, that you’ve made.

Now it’s time to start making new decisions. Go out and try new things. Fail at some, and discover what the winning decisions are, as quickly as possible!

One thing that keeps many people from success is thinking. They are not succeeding because they spent far too much time thinking about what to do rather than actually doing it!

I’m not saying you shouldn’t take your time and PLAN what you’re going to do, but once you’ve decided what you really, really want to do in your business, and you’re really, really tired of not being successful… then make that plan a reality by taking action on it!

Basically the world is divided between 2 kinds of people: Doers and Talkers.

The question is: Which are you?


Be a doer… success comes to those who TAKE what they want by DOING something that gets them closer to their goals each day. Even if you’re wrong, doing something is better than doing nothing!

You’ll never hear anyone else say this in the same way I will, but it’s 100% true:


You can be stupid, poor and ugly, but if you’re persistent enough about working toward what YOU WANT (which means that you are FOCUSED) you will SUCCEED!

Period. You WILL succeed. If you do NOTHING else the rest of this year, just implement this ONE simple piece of advice I’m giving you today and you will see your success skyrocket.

But there’s the RIGHT and the WRONG type of persistence. The WRONG type of persistence is when you continue to do something that doesn’t work.

The RIGHT kind of persistence is when you keep trying new tactics and strategies until you find something that works well, dropping fast anything that fails.

You can only succeed if you’re willing to try new things in your business. New ways of selling your products or services. New types of adverts. New ways of generating word of mouth. New ways of greeting walk-in customers. New products or services.
